Gearing down from the busy wedding season and gearing up for engagement and portrait sittings. It has been a great summer, it was a real pleasure to work with all the couples I worked with this summer.

I've finally gotten a chance to go out and take some photographs. I am hoping to get the creative energy flowing as I prepare for another busy wedding season. This is a local cemetery early in the morning, the frost and the light were absolutely perfect for creating a very interesting photograph.

Tom and Melissa Csenge

A great day for a wedding at a gorgeous location. Thanks for allowing Michele and I to capture your wedding day!

A very enjoyable Memorial day weekend at the family cottage before, the busy season begins. It was great to see my friends and family and get some fishing in. Currently I am preparing for Sarah and Tylers wedding this Saturday.

We spent the weekend at the family cottage after meeting with a client on the way there. I have had a real strong interest in night photography over the past six months and the sky was perfect for testing a few creative ideas.

Been meeting with many brides and grooms lately so I haven't had the chance to get out and take photos. But, I had the day off and felt inspired.

This an image from last week at Jay Peak in northern VT. It was a ski trip where I had no intention of taking photos, but I couldn't resist. This is at the very top of the mountain and was the only glimpse of the sun I had that day as it was snowing hard for most of the day.

For the next two months I will be gearing up for wedding season working to get my schedule set while enjoying some time with the family and on the slopes.

How cool is this? I wanted to experiment with long exposures. This is two photos merged together. The left is me writing Mia backwards to achieve what you see and the one on the right was me taking a picture of Mia when she decided the plane in the sky was more interesting than looking at me with the camera. I have been advertising my website like crazy, keep any eye out for Abe Gates photography on Google.

Just finished hours of proofing from an amazing wedding on the other side of the state. The family and guests made me feel welcome and as though I was also a guest at the wedding. It made it all that much easier to capture each and every moment in its purest emotional form.

Contemplating Life...

Hard to resist this shot. Taking pictures in the Park I saw a man taking a break from his stroll down the street for a moment of reflection.
My daughter appears to be thinking about life as well, but she is probably just thinking about munchkins at Dunkin Donuts after we leave the park.

Happy Days

Life with two kids is crazy, but it is a real treat to see their personalities develop..

Appalachian Trail Reunion

On Friday I had the chance to connect with a trail buddy who I had not seen since 2001, Almond Joy is his trail name. Sounds weird, but yes everyone hiking from Georgia to Maine has a trail name, mine was Bodily Function. Anyway we went on a hike with his girlfriend Kara and covered 15 miles, with stood 50 mile an hour winds and 50 degree temperatures. Who would have thought you could have that much fun in such miserable weather.

A walk in the park..

It is probably time for me to find a new model, she just doesn't want me taking anymore pictures of her, hence the tears. We went for a walk at Wheelock Park yesterday, it was cold and windy so not many folks were out. Mia did eventually come around when she got the chance to play on the playground.
